Come Undone - Chapter Three Fandom: Original Story Summary: Once upon a time, there was a bookworm and a fledgling thug. They were the very best of friends, and the bookworm kicked some ass to help out his buddy the thug. Now, six years later, karma came back for revenge. Disclaimer: Miiiiiiiine :D
If anyone had cared enough to ask him how he felt, he would have described the pain he was in as similar to being first run over by a semi-truck and then kicked in the head a few times for good measure. Waking up was unpleasant enough on a normal day, and the agonizing pain he was feeling now made it even worse.
Since when did he sleep upright, anyway? The last day was a blur (he suspected this was from the throbbing ache on the side of his head), and he could not even recall falling asleep.
“What ran me over?” he mumbled, reaching to rub his head – stopping short when he discovered his arms were tightly bound to something behind his back. A cold dread settled in the pit of his stomach as he slowly opened his eyes, finding himself in an unfamiliar room. The light in the room was too dim for him to make out anything but shadowed silhouettes of what appeared to be crates, and aside from the sound of dripping water nearby and his own breathing, it was completely silent.
“Oh, hell,” he breathed, twisting the best he could to look at the wooden beam he was tied to. “No, no, no.”
Fighting down a wail he twisted and pulled at his arms frantically trying to get loose, breath coming in short bursts as he began to panic. “H-hey!” he shouted. “Anyone! H-help!”
“Scream all you want, kid, no one’s coming.”
Jayden froze hearing the voice behind him, and the approaching footsteps that followed. He yelped when his hair was grabbed and pulled, making him hit his head.
“Are you really his cousin? Kinda wimpy, aren’t ya?”
“Let me go!” Jayden exclaimed, struggling beginning anew. His captor laughed, and Jayden’s struggled slowed and stopped as more voices joined in the laughter.
“A’ leas’ he’s a funny one!” another voice shouted, laughing.
“Too bad being funny isn’t going to help him much,” the first voice said, and Jayden yelped as his hair was roughly pulled again. “If his asshole of a cousin comes looking for him, though…”
Jayden jerked his head, trying to free his hair and get a glimpse of his kidnapper at the same time. “What do you want with Alex?” he exclaimed, getting his hair partially free before the hand holding it tightened.
“Oh, he and Zayne owe me,” his captor said, chuckling dryly. “And you are the bait.”
That cold dread in the pit of his stomach deepened as his kidnapper finally came into view, stories and warning told to him by both Alex and Zayne suddenly coming back to him.
“And when I’m finished with them,” Darrius said, smiling wickedly, “they’ll wish they’d never crossed me.”
